Hair Extensions

Hair extensions have been popular now for a number of years, particularly among the stars and those people who were trying to achieve a ‘rasta’ look. Hair extensions are sometimes used by people to cover hair loss problems or while their hair is growing. This look was first made fashionable by the actress Bo Derrick quite a number of years ago.

If you decide that you would like hair extensions then you need to find out what type of hair you would prefer. You might want human hair extension or you might prefer to use synthetic hair. Jessica Simpson hair extensions are very popular, as is the most commonly used Afro-American method of attaching hair extensions by weaving synthetic or real extensions on to the person’s existing hair. More recently clip on hair extensions are becoming more popular because they are easier to attach and remove from the head.

Some people may say, I want to know everything about hair extensions – well the main things you need to know is that there are three ways of attaching the extensions, either as clip ons, by weaving or gluing, and by wefting, where a weft of hair is attached to the person’s own hair. Hair extension links are one of the more recent additions to how hair extensions are applied and there are different types of links that your hairdresser can offer – although many people are now opting for clip in hair extension as an easier option.

Hair extensions have become so widespread and popular that there are now hair extension salons that are dedicated to dealing with this type of hair care. When it comes to looking good many people will go to great lengths – hair extensions are simply one of the easier ways of improving your look. There are varying degrees of hair extensions. Cost does play a part in whether your hair extensions look great for a couple of days and then start falling out, or continue to look great for some time. Another way of getting hair extensions is through heat fusion. Hair extensions are fused to your existing hair when heat is applied to them.

Caucasian hair extensions are becoming more popular as the process was originally developed to enhance black people’s hair. There comes a time when either your own hair has grown or you just want a change – when it comes to hair extension removal a lot will depend on the type of extensions you have had, obviously clip-ons are the easiest to remove.
