Avodart

Hair loss is a common problem but it is more evident in men than it is in women. Some treatments are FDA tested and therefore have federal approval while others have not been through the same rigorous clinical trials and are not on the approved list. Not everyone is happy with the results they get from these drugs and so they turn to other, non-approved drugs such as Avodart.

Avodart is widely used but should not be taken by women of childbearing age as avodart side effects are such that they can cause abnormalities in an unborn foetus. The drug is not really safe for women so they shouldn’t take Avodart – body hair is often an unwanted effect for women. It has a number of beneficial effects for men, and some may take Avodart for prostate problems. With prostate problems it is often Avodart vs Prosca and under these circumstances Prosca might be better as Avodart can have some serious side effects.

Occasionally some men will experience impotence after Avodart, they may be put on a reduced dose or taken off it altogether. There is some dispute about Avodart as an FDA approved drug, some sites say that it is approved while others say that it isn’t. This suggests that it may have had approval but there are problems with the drug and so that is being withheld, nonetheless many men have had success with Avodart. Hair loss has been reduced and new growth begins after a few months. Some men are so pleased with the results they have Avodart before and after pictures – that is not to say it is that successful for everyone.

There is some link between Avodart and impotence, if you experience this then you should consult your doctor, although providing you stop taking the drug the problem should only be short term. Some men do have quite a good experience with Avodart. Results can vary from person to person however, so it is always wise to get advice from your doctor. When it comes to treating prostate cancer it is often a case of flomax vs avodart – flomax may be better for some men because it does not tend to lead to impotence.

While Avodart can be beneficial for a number of conditions the main focus here is how well it works for the treatment of hair loss – when it comes to male baldness Avodart does seem to be of use in a large number of cases. If you are thinking about trying Avodart, questions to ask your doctor might centre around blood pressure and impotence. Your doctor will be able to tell you how likely you might be to succumb to these side effects. It is always best to start with an informed medical opinion on Avodart - experiences of those who use it can differ quite markedly so always check with your doctor.
